- UiPath to provide students with RPA training, certification pathways & practical automation experience
- Partnership aims to strengthen Malaysia’s digital talent pipeline through industry-academia collaboration
Multimedia University (MMU) and UiPath, Inc. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) education, training and industry engagement, equipping students with skills to meet the growing demand for automation talent.
The collaboration is further strengthened through the strategic industry enablement role of Telekom Malaysia’s Group Information Technology & Digital (TM GITD) under the MMU Academic Alliance initiative. As the strategic industry enablement partner, TM GITD contributes enterprise automation expertise, TM-developed RPA learning assets, curriculum integration and practical implementation experience, helping bridge academic learning with real-world enterprise practices while strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
Under the education and training initiative, UiPath will support students and educators in developing RPA competencies through access to learning resources, certification pathways and assessment-based incentives aligned with industry standards. Participants will gain practical exposure to automation tools and workflows, while training content will be aligned with globally recognised RPA competencies and certification frameworks.
Speaking on behalf of UiPath, Amit Khandelwal, regional vice president and managing director, Southeast Asia, said the collaboration would help nurture a strong pipeline of automation talent.
“The next generation of builders will define how enterprises orchestrate AI, automation and people at scale. As demand grows for talent with automation expertise, our partnership with MMU is helping build a pipeline of graduates equipped with the technical depth and hands-on experience that align with the needs of today’s employers,” he added.
Meanwhile, MMU President, Prof. Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, said the partnership reflects MMU’s commitment to embedding cutting-edge industry technologies into its academic ecosystem.
“By integrating RPA into our curriculum and providing students with access to globally recognised certifications, we are equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy,” he added.
Beyond the classroom, MMU and UiPath will jointly organise awareness programmes, competitions, hackathons and experiential learning activities to foster innovation and practical problem-solving skills. These initiatives will enable students to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios while engaging with industry professionals and emerging automation technologies.
The MoU also establishes a framework for sharing employment opportunities, enabling UiPath and its ecosystem partners to connect with MMU students and graduates through internships, graduate recruitment and career development initiatives to enhance students’ employability and prepare them to meet the evolving demands of the digital workforce.
This collaboration underscores MMU and UiPath’s shared vision of accelerating digital transformation through education, innovation and industry engagement. It is expected to create a strong pipeline of graduates equipped with practical RPA competencies, further strengthening Malaysia’s position in the global digital economy.
In recognition of TM GITD’s role as the strategic industry enablement partner for the MMU Academic Alliance initiative, the signing ceremony was witnessed by TM Group chief information officer, Ivan Chong.
Since the launch of the MMU Academic Alliance initiative in 2025, TM GITD has supported curriculum integration by contributing TM-developed RPA course content, engaging MMU lecturers and sharing enterprise automation expertise. These efforts led to the rollout of an RPA elective course under MMU’s Faculty of Engineering & Technology, providing students with practical enterprise automation competencies aligned with industry needs.
