Intel Corporation has appointed Santhosh Viswanathan (pic) as vice president and managing director for its Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, expanding his leadership scope beyond India to oversee one of the company’s largest and most diverse markets.

The move brings Intel’s operations across APJ under a more unified leadership structure, with Viswanathan responsible for business, brand and customer engagement across the region.

Santhosh most recently served as vice president and managing director for Intel India, where he led the company’s growth in one of its key markets. He previously oversaw operations across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and has held multiple regional leadership roles within APJ.

Earlier in his career, he served as global director of operations at Intel in the United States, leading sales operations strategy and supporting transformation initiatives across the company’s global markets.

“APJ is one of the most diverse and fast-growing regions in the world, and its strength lies in its people, partners and technology ecosystems,” Santhosh said. “I look forward to working with our teams and customers to drive growth and expand opportunities across the region.”

Viswanathan has more than two decades of experience at Intel and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, as well as an MBA.
