- Introduced hands-on training & certification pathways in enterprise networking
- Will integrate real-world infrastructure & industry experience into students’ learning

TP-Link Distribution Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding to equip students with industry-relevant networking skills, hands-on enterprise experience, and globally recognised certifications.
The three-year collaboration is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, enabling UiTM students to graduate with practical capabilities aligned with enterprise needs, while strengthening industry–academia collaboration.
The partnership includes the deployment of TP-Link’s Omada enterprise networking solutions in UiTM labs, giving students hands-on experience with infrastructure used in business environments. This is complemented by structured training programmes, technical workshops, and access to the Omada Certified Network Administrator certification pathway.
Students will also benefit from internship and industrial training opportunities with TP-Link, creating a clearer pathway from university to employment in Malaysia’s growing digital economy.
This initiative builds on TP-Link Malaysia’s earlier collaboration with Universiti Malaya, where over 500 students participated in certification programmes in 2025, highlighting strong demand for industry-aligned networking skills.
Hugo Cai, regional director of TP-Link Distribution Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., said, “Across industries, organisations are scaling their digital infrastructure, but the availability of professionals with enterprise networking expertise has not kept pace. This collaboration aims to close that gap by equipping students with practical, certification-backed skills directly relevant to industry needs.”
“Ensuring our graduates are equipped with both academic knowledge and practical, industry-relevant skills is critical in today’s evolving digital landscape. Collaborations such as this allow us to align our programmes more closely with technological advancements and industry expectations,” added Prof. Dr. Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin, vice-chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Mara.
Beyond talent development, both organisations will explore joint initiatives in research, consultation, and knowledge exchange, fostering closer collaboration between TP-Link engineers and UiTM faculty.
The collaboration reflects growing demand for industry-certified networking talent as organisations expand digital infrastructure across Malaysia.
