Entermind launches ‘Rukun Ready’ AI model – an open weight model to build better AI alignment with national values

  • Model helps align AI outputs against Malaysia’s foundational national principles
  • Invites Malaysian developer ecosystem to contribute to this living artifact and evolve it

Entermind, a Malaysia-based AI services company, today announced the launch of Rukun Ready AI model – a free, open-source model designed to help AI builders evaluate and manage their outputs’ alignment with Malaysia’s foundational national values.

Rukun Negara — the five pillars of Malaysian society emphasizing belief in God, loyalty to King and Country, supremacy of the Constitution, rule of law, and courtesy and morality — can now be reinforced better in AI outputs with this model.

Addressing the localization gap in responsible AI

“Global responsible AI frameworks often miss the nuances of local context,” said Prashant Kumar (pic), founder of Entermind. “Responsible AI isn’t one-size-fits-all. What’s appropriate varies by country, culture, and community. Rukun Negara makes Malaysia amazing. ‘Rukun Ready AI’ represents our commitment to building AI infrastructure that respects Malaysian societal values — going beyond legal compliance or language considerations to better values alignment.”

Rukun Ready AI guardrail model is built on Qwen2.5-32B-Instruct (32B base parameters) and fine-tuned with LoRA (~268M trainable adaptation parameters, ~0.84% of base) on a custom multilingual data stack (Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, Tamil) with policy variants for allow, rewrite, and deny outcomes.

A llving, open-source artifact

Entermind emphasises that this release is a “Day 1” initiative. By open-sourcing the project, the company invites the Malaysian developer ecosystem to contribute to this living artifact and evolve it further.

“Social media has inadvertently added to polarisation in societies around the world. We cannot allow AI to inherit those biases. The model is free and everyone is invited to build upon it,” Prashant added.

The model since its soft launch a few days back has already seen downloads by 300+ AI builders on Hugging Face. It is available for developers to download at www.rukunnegara.ai and host it on their servers and clouds.

Warren Leow (pic), from Konsortium AI Negara, Malaysia’s largest AI industry association, welcomed the initiative: “Rukun Negara AI context is useful to provide the cultural overlay, hence ensuring relevance to Malaysian values and local needs. I am encouraged to see such initiatives from Entermind to drive and grow the local AI ecosystem, especially if it helps to push the sovereignty agenda.”

Launched in December, Entermind is an end-to-end AI services company that seeks to combine global quality in AI engineering with local context and an AI native approach.
