Boost Bank reaches SME financing milestone: Close to US$35,000k disbursed to hundreds of SMEs

  • The bank will soon launch a new digital platform tailored for SMEs
  • Achievement reflects support for financial inclusion & small business empowerment

Boost Bank has reached a key milestone as Malaysia’s first homegrown digital bank, having disbursed nearly US$35 million (RM150 million) in SME financing to hundreds of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). As the first digital bank in Malaysia to offer financing solutions exclusively for SMEs, this achievement reinforces the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion and supporting underserved small businesses, the company said in a statement.

With typical loan sizes around US$71,000 (RM300,000), Boost Bank noted that its growth is driven by core financing products—term loans and revolving credit facilities—tailored to SME needs. These products offer minimal documentation, fast processing, and flexible repayment options. Hundreds of businesses across sectors such as wholesale, manufacturing, retail, construction, and food and beverage have benefited, using the funds to manage cash flow, meet daily needs, and grow with fewer obstacles.

Fozia Amanulla (pic), CEO of Boost Bank, said: “SMEs are at the heart of Malaysia’s economy. They create jobs, spark innovation, and keep our communities vibrant. When we launched SME financing,  our mission was clear—to help business owners overcome the challenges they often face. Reaching this milestone isn’t just about the numbers. It’s about what’s possible when financing is simple, accessible, and designed around real business needs.”

She added, “This also reflects how rapidly digital solutions are transforming business operations. At Boost Bank, we’re committed to helping SMEs not only with financing but also with the tools and services they need to grow confidently in the digital era.”

Looking ahead, Boost Bank plans to launch a new digital platform designed specifically for SMEs. It will go beyond financing, enabling small businesses to manage their money, payments, and operations in one place—freeing up entrepreneurs to focus on growing their ventures.
