U Mobile names Edgepoint as preferred 5G IBC infrastructure partner for upcoming 5G rollout

U Mobile, Malaysia’s next-generation 5G network provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EdgePoint Infrastructure Sdn Bhd, a leading ASEAN-based independent telecommunications infrastructure company. In a joint statement, the parties said that this latest collaboration will see EdgePoint become one of U Mobile’s preferred 5G in-building (IBC) infrastructure partners, playing a critical role in accelerating U Mobile’s upcoming rollout of 5G IBC infrastructure across Malaysia.

As part of the partnership, both parties will work closely on the deployment of 5G IBC infrastructure, focusing on developing and implementing tailored solutions for each site to enhance network performance and user experience. They will also collaborate to ensure a cost-effective and rapid rollout. This partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of 5G technology, ensuring seamless connectivity and coverage across key locations, while addressing the evolving needs of consumers and businesses alike.

The collaboration will also involve both U Mobile and EdgePoint working together on connectivity enhancement solutions, resulting in faster data speeds, ultra-low latency, and seamless integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, smart cities, and autonomous systems. Additionally, both companies will explore opportunities for future expansion and innovation in 5G IBC solutions.
