Malaysian enterprises recognised at 2025 Shell LiveWIRE Global top ten Innovators Awards

  • Satu Creative named runner-up for supporting local entrepreneurs
  • Materials in Works and Reclimate Sdn. Bhd. win top honours in environmental sustainability

Two Malaysian companies, Materials in Works and Reclimate Sdn. Bhd., have been recognised at the 2025 Shell LiveWIRE global Top Ten Innovators Awards, winning the grand prize and runner-up position respectively in the Environmental Sustainability category. The awards, which highlight entrepreneurial excellence in innovation, were announced in Kuala Lumpur on May 7, 2025.

Materials in Works was named the winner for its approach to transforming hard-to-recycle industrial waste into repurposed materials. Founder John Ooi (pic) commented, “Winning this prestigious Top 10 Innovators award is a powerful validation of the company’s mission of turning what the world sees as waste into a valuable resource. This recognition fuels our drive to scale sustainable innovation and inspire a new era of circular economy to the world.”

Reclimate Sdn. Bhd. earned the runner-up spot for its work with farming communities to convert agricultural waste into biochar and provide access to carbon markets through digital tools. Annamalai Thani, COO of Reclimate, said, “Being named a Shell Top Ten Innovators winner is a powerful affirmation of our mission at Reclimate and this recognition strengthens our commitment to environmental innovation that drives real, lasting impact for both people and the planet.”
